Variations of the Models

You have determined the model of your 1905 Winchester. 

Now you will need to determine which variation you have.   Variations are determined by stock type. 

 

Step 2: Determine the Variation of model type

Select one of the following choices

bulletThe barrel is 22"long, there is no checkering,  the stock is straight and number on tang is lower than ~20,000 -This is the early variation from 1905 through 1909 with  a straight-grip stock. -- If you have a straight grip stock you have the early 'Standard Model 1905' version.

 
bulletThe barrel is 22"long, there is no checkering,  the stock is pistol-grip and number on tang is higher than ~20,000 -This is the later variation made after 1909 with  a pistol-grip stock. -- If you have a pistol grip stock you have the later 'Standard Model 1905' version.

 


Enter the Variation of your gun in the column to the right

Once you have determined the model and variation,
Study the Outline of Features for possible modifications to the original rifle.

 

Be sure that the Variation of your gun is  recorded in the column to the right
