Variations of the Models

You have determined the 'model' of your 55 Winchester.  Now you will need to determine which variation you have.   Both the solid frame and take-down 'models' have the same possible caliber variations.

Step 2: Determine the Variation of model type

Select one of the following choices

bulletThe barrel is 24"long and the caliber stamping says either " 30 WCF" or 32 WS-- You have a standard caliber version.

 
bulletThe barrel is 24"long and the caliber stamping says "25-35"-- You have the more rare caliber version.

 


Enter the Variation of your gun in the column to the right

Once you have determined the model and variation,
Study the Outline of Features for possible modifications to the original rifle.

 

Be sure that the Variation of your gun is  recorded in the column to the right

Then proceed to condition determination.
