You have determined the model of your 1895 Marlin Rifle. Now you will need to determine if you have a standard or deluxe version, or what type of carbine. Both Standard and Deluxe versions were produced in both models, with many possible options available to buyers. For example, you could order many barrel lengths for the 1895 Marlin .
Step 2: Determine the Variation of model types
Select one of the following choices
The stock is straight with no checkering -- You have the Standard version. | |||
The stock and forearm is checkered. It may be straight, but is usually a pistol grip -- You have the Deluxe version. | |||
The gun has a sling ring. You have the Carbine. | |||
The barrel length on your carbine is 15" with a 1/2 magazine. You have a post-1887 Carbine. | |||
You have "Model 94" stamped on your tang. You have the later (post-1900) version. | |||
Your gun dissembles by unscrewing the magazine.--You have the Take-down Model. | |||
Your gun is a .45-70 or .45-90 caliber -- You can add 10% to total value. | |||

mentioned, and they look original. -- You may have
a factory "extra- option". You may need to consult a professional
appraiser to determine the value of your gun.
