You have determined the model of your Winchester. Now you will need to determine which variation you have. Both Standard and Expert versions have variations that you will need to be aware of.
Step 2: Determine the Variation of model type
Select one of the following choices
The stock is straight, forearm smooth and number on tang is higher than 113,000 -- You have an early 'Standard Model 1906' version. | |

The stock is pistol grip, forearm is smooth and fluted, the entire gun is blued -- You have the 'Expert 1906 Model' blued version. | |

The stock is pistol grip, forearm smooth and fluted, the barrel of the gun is blued, but the receiver, guard and action are nickel -- You have the 'Expert 1906 Model' half-nickel version. | |

The stock is pistol grip, forearm is smooth and fluted, all metal parts are nickel -- You have the 'Expert 1906 Model' full-nickel version. | |

possible modifications to the original rifle.
Then proceed to condition determination.
